Bronze ?– Track World Cup Pruszków

Yesterday I won the bronze medal in the omnium at the first World Cup of the 2017/18 track season. I started out with a 17th place in the scratch race. I messed up the final and was super disappointed. In the second race which was the Tempo Race, I got 2nd and my hopes for an overall good result was back. In the third event which was the elimination I got 4th. That meant I was placed 6th before the final points race, but everything could happen as the standings were super close. I was aiming for a podium spot before we started the final points race. It was tight all the way to the end and in the last sprint I managed to gain the last few points and get the last spot on the podium. This result makes me really happy, especially after the European Championship two weeks ago were I didn’t meet my own expectations. And actually this is my best World Cup result ever? Friday (the day before the omnium) I participated in both the scratch race points race as individual disciplines. My main focus was on the omnium, but I was still trying get some good results. In the points race I got 6th, three girls gained a lap and even though I tried to get away too I didn’t succeed and had to settle for 6th. In the scratch race I tried my luck once again in gaining a lap but I didn’t succeed. Four other riders did, and in the final sprint I got 4th which meant I ended as number 8. It wasn’t perfect results but not terrible either. Thank you to Team Danmark, Danmarks Cykle Union, Boels Dolmans Cycling Team, Martin my coach, our mechanic (Mads) and soigneurs (Amund & Basti) who all were a big part of the reason why I could take the bronze medal. ? Monday, we (the national team) travel to Manchester were the 2nd World Cup of the season is being held next weekend!
